PINOYRAP.COM
is an English language website about the hip-hop culture in
The Philippines. This site contains info on Filipino rap artists,
resources, samples and more. It also contains info and photo
galleries on other elements such as b-boying, djing and graffiti.
But the website still primarily focus on the rap aspect.
I
decided to use English since it's a universal language and
people from all over the world visit this site. This site
introduce people, both Filipino or foreign to the culture
of Filipino hip-hop.
How
It Started
The
original project started in early 1996 as a hip-hop site called
The Hip-Hop Chamba (www.hiphopchamba.com) with me
(formerly known as The Ill Creator) and DJ. Kive. Because
of the rising hip-hop scene in The Philippines, The site had
a sub section called Flip-Hop Online which was one
of the first websites about Filipino hip-hop. Flip-Hop
Online contained info on Pinoy rap and also other elements
like breakdancing, graffiti and DJing. The site went online
until 1999 when it was shut down because of hosting problems.
The project was revived on Febuary 2004 as PINOYRAP.COM.
